This workshop, aptly named “Starry Starry Night,” is an engaging part of our series covering annual events and holidays. In this workshop we work with recycled and natural materials. Suited for various age groups and social settings, it’s a versatile activity suitable for adults, kids, teens, young adults, those with limited English language proficiency and even individuals managing mental health concerns. The workshop spans over two sessions of two hours each.

Exploring Gratitude through Stars

The heart of “Starry Starry Night” lies in gratitude. Participants are guided to reflect on the past year and select five distinct people or events they are thankful for in a journalling exercise. Each of these selections inspires a different crafted star, bringing personal narratives to life.

Simple yet effective ways to create dazzle

In the first session, attendees will craft stars using an assortment of materials like Christmas wrapping paper, coloured paper, old book pages, lollipop sticks, toilet rolls, glitter glue. In the second session a wreath is created with repurposed items like old bottles strung around a metal rings as base, before attaching natural elements such as branches. The techniques explored will include cutting, wrapping and crafting in general, ensuring a hands-on and enjoyable creative process.

A starlit path

“Starry Starry Night” is more than a craft workshop; it’s a journey in mindful creation, where recycled materials, seasonal elements, and a conscious theme harmonize to form unique and meaningful wreaths. Whether for adults engaging in a social activity or teens exploring their creativity, this series promises a starlit path of gratitude and artistic expression.
