Salt Serenity
This workshop is a gentle invitation to explore tranquility and creativity in a supportive community setting. Over 2 hours (or across two sessions), participants will immerse themselves in the soothing symbolism of saltwater, weaving together guided meditation, therapeutic art techniques, and the joy of mindful making. The workshop’s aim is to nurture inner peace and offer a meaningful connection to the symbolic power of saltwater through creative expression.

Dive into Serenity
Each session begins with a calming guided meditation inspired by the healing properties of saltwater. This peaceful exercise sets the stage for participants to unwind, centre themselves, and connect with the theme of tranquility. The meditation invites relaxation and prepares the mind for the creative process ahead.
Reflective Journaling
Following the meditation, participants engage in reflective journaling, delving into the symbolic meaning of saltwater. This straightforward yet profound activity encourages personal exploration and prepares participants for the artistic process.
Therapeutic Art
In this session, the focus is on the therapeutic art process, using ink and salt to create textured, flowing resist patterns. No prior artistic experience is required—this is a playful and experimental technique designed to let participants enjoy the spontaneous effects of salt as it interacts with ink on watercolour paper. In the second session, the resist artwork is enhanced with layers of watercolour and optional fine embellishments like metallic highlights or pressed flowers, allowing participants to personalise their creations. The result is a unique, meaningful piece of art that reflects the calming essence of saltwater.
