Layered colour and textured forms exploring each energy centre
This workshop offers a reflective and tactile exploration of the seven chakras, suitable for a wide range of participants including adults, teenagers, or small groups interested in mindful creative practice. It works well in community centres, retreat spaces, wellness festivals, or classroom settings where participants can sit comfortably and engage with materials at their own pace. The sessions encourage a quiet, focused approach, with space for gentle reflection and subtle experimentation, inviting participants to connect with their own sense of balance and awareness.
finding balance within
The workshop gently introduces the theme of energy centres through a short guided meditation, helping participants tune into their own sense of stability, creativity, and openness. They may be invited to note reflections in a journal or share brief insights with the group if they wish. This quiet attention sets the tone for engaging with each chakra in a way that feels personal and considered, rather than prescriptive.
colours, layers and textures
Participants work with simple and accessible materials including acrylic paints, gelli plates, brayers, foam sheets, scissors, and glue. The first session focuses on creating layered colour strips, printing the base colours of each chakra and then adding a secondary pattern in a lighter or darker tone of the same colour. The second session develops these prints into layered foam forms, which are painted, cut and assembled to build a dimensional representation of the seven chakras. Step-by-step guidance is provided throughout, while still allowing participants to add their own marks, textures, and interpretations. No prior artistic experience is required.
a personal reflection of energy
At the end of the workshop, each participant will have a series of layered prints and assembled foam pieces representing the seven chakras. The work reflects both the technique explored and the individual’s engagement with each energy centre. Beyond the visual outcome, the pieces offer a tangible reminder of the participant’s focus, intention, and reflections during the sessions, creating a quietly meaningful keepsake of the process.
