Creating a deck of collage cards to honour memories and bring comfort.

This Mending Moments Deck is designed for groups or individuals seeking a reflective and creative way to process grief and honour meaningful memories. The workshop consists of two sessions in which participants create a personalised deck of collage cards incorporating thoughtful quotes, layered designs and personal reflections. Each session lasts two hours and all materials are provided.

Layering Memories

The workshop incorporates a conscious theme of grieving which will be gently introduced with a guided meditation at the start of each session. This meditation will encourage participants to connect with their feelings, honour their personal experiences, and bring focus to the creative process. Throughout the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the theme of healing, with journalling prompts and optional group sharing as additional tools for exploration and connection.

A Gentle Process

In this workshop, participants will use materials such as cardstock, scrapbook paper, pre-printed or handwritten quotes and personal decorative touches. They will use techniques like collage layering, cutting and arranging compositions to create a meaningful and unique deck of cards. This workshop is not a traditional art class but rather a supportive and mindful space where participants are guided step-by-step through the process. Each participant will be encouraged to personalise their designs, allowing their unique stories and emotions to shine through.

A Deck of Comfort

At the end of the workshop, participants will have a personal set of solace cards. These cards serve as a deeply personal and practical resource to draw from during difficult moments, offering words of comfort and tangible reminders of their journey through healing. Each card reflects the theme of grieving, carrying with it a sense of peace, connection and encouragement to reach out.
