Connecting to Your Seven Chakras
The chakra system is a concept that originated in ancient Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and it refers to seven energy centers in the body that correspond to different physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person’s being. Each chakra is believed to have its unique properties and characteristics, and when all of them are balanced, a person can achieve optimal health and well-being.
Studying the seven chakras can be beneficial for mental health because it can help individuals understand and address imbalances or blockages in their energy centers that may be contributing to physical, emotional, or mental issues. By becoming more aware of these energy centers and learning techniques to balance and harmonize them, individuals may experience improved mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being.
Gaining Self-Awareness through Exploring Chakras
This workshop with seven sessions creating art based on the chakras is an excellent opportunity for individuals of all ages who are interested in exploring their inner world and improving their mental and emotional well-being. By creating art based on each chakra, participants can deepen their understanding of these energy centers and explore their own feelings and emotions related to each one. For teenagers, this workshop can be an especially valuable tool for navigating the challenges of adolescence and developing greater self-awareness and resilience.
Seven different Art Techniques
Located in the lower abdomen, the sacral chakra represents our creativity, sexuality, and emotions. In a mixed media collage using all sorts of bits and pieces from various sources we will be exploring our creative resourcefulness and out of the box thinking.
The throat chakra symbolises our ability to communicate, express ourselves, and speak our truth. Starting with automatic writing as the base, we create a collage piece using our own words, magazine headers and images to give shape to our authentic expression.
Intuition, wisdom, and spiritual insight is symbolised by the third eye chakra. Believing in our own inner voice and gaining clarity is represented in this session where we create art with salt, glue and watercolour.
Seven Chakra Canvasses
Each session has a different art medium, but will be creating the chakra symbol on a square canvas. At the end of the full workshop, the 7 chakra symbols can be strung together and hung on a wall. Each workshop has a matching guided meditation, specific essential oil blend in the space, a healing music playlist and a positive affirmation for the participants to keep repeating the week after the session.
