heart-Opening mindfulness Through Cacao Ceremony and Macrame
This workshop offers an opportunity to connect with inner thoughts and emotions through the combined power of cacao, meditation, journalling, and conscious crafting. Suitable for retreat settings, mindfulness festivals, wellness groups, or any occasion focused on connection and introspection. Designed to cultivate self-awareness and calm, it encourages participants to engage with tactile materials, gently guiding them toward personal insight while creating a meaningful keepsake.
My hands weave, my heart listens, my spirit flows.
Savour and Reflect
The workshop incorporates a conscious theme of heart opening, symbolized by both the cacao ceremony and the creative process. Participants will be invited to sip ceremonial cacao—a practice often linked to emotional clarity and mindfulness. This will be followed by a guided meditation, helping them settle into the present moment and reflect on the workshop’s theme. Journalling prompts will allow participants to channel their thoughts, with an optional sharing circle at the end to deepen connections within the group.
A Weaving of Thoughts and Threads
The craft element focuses on basic macrame knotting, using cotton cord and fabric strips to create a heart-shaped wall hanging. Participants will select contrasting colours, guided by their reflections, to symbolize different layers of emotional experience. They will follow a step-by-step process to knot the strands onto a wooden stick, allowing for customization through texture, colour, and added details such as beads. Unlike traditional art classes, this workshop emphasizes process over perfection, encouraging a gentle flow of thoughts and emotions as they knot and weave.
A Heartfelt Keepsake
At the end of the workshop, participants will have a macrame heart wall hanging—a tactile, handmade reminder of their experience. This piece will reflect not only their creative choices but also the insights gained during the session. The heart shape serves as a lasting symbol of openness, self-connection and the reflective process shared throughout the workshop, offering gentle encouragement beyond the crafting space.
