Bring some fun in your Zen
In this two-session workshop, participants will learn various painting techniques as they create painted rocks. In the first session, participants can choose to paint their rocks resembling something else. In the second session, participants will create mandalas on stones using a dotting tool. A guided meditations will be incorporated to help participants connect with their raw material and tap into their creativity. Refreshments like tea and snacks will be provided during breaks. At the end of each session, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the process and take their completed rocks home.
Like a rock in the river of life, I allow the currents of life to smooth my edges
while retaining the core of my true self.
Talking Rocks and Chatting Pebbles
Our central theme, Mindfulness, will be integrated into the workshop through a guided meditation at the onset of each session. This practice will invite participants to form a bond with their chosen pebble, fostering a sense of imagination and empathy as they consider the “soul” of the rock. This exercise is designed to imbue the entire rock painting process with mindfulness, encouraging a quiet and attentive presence as each stroke or dot of paint is applied. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their experiences with their rocks through journaling, with an optional sharing segment closing out the workshop to foster a sense of community and shared growth.
from Pebble to Palette
During the workshop, participants will learn to wield pebbles and acrylic paint as tools for expressing their creativity and mindfulness. Even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before, our workshops are designed to foster a positive, non-judgemental environment that welcomes personal interpretation and originality. In the first session, participants can choose to paint rocks as bugs, cacti, cookies (if the workshop is with kids), or sugar skulls (popular with teens). In the second session, participants will create mandalas on stones using the dotting technique. In a single session workshop we only create the mandalas.
The Rocky Reminders
Upon the conclusion of the Rock Talk Workshop, participants will be the proud creators of uniquely painted rocks and pebbles. These are more than mere painted rocks – they are tangible tokens of your journey towards mindfulness, personal expression, and a deeper connection to the natural world. These little monuments of mindful art serve not only as a unique, personal piece of artwork, but also as a lasting reminder of the serene and meaningful experience of creation that you embarked upon during the workshop.
